Many pupils of Salford Grammar School saw the Gym classes as a welcome break from the more serious studies and lessons. Others, who were less physically talented, saw them as a ‘challenge’. Where some old boys struggle to remember a Geography or History master, very few fail to recollect their Gym teacher.
