Music, in both performance and appreciation, played an important cultural role at Salford Grammar School. Standards were very high and those that taught were often very talented themselves. Morning assemblies would often have a music recital that would both entertain and inspire.
The school has produced some real musical talent, including Peter Hook, base player in the world famous pop groups Joy Division and New Order.
